Starbucks Smoothies: A Healthy Meal in a Cool Drink

Posted on July 10, 2009

Many of my clients feel guilty that they don’t bring their lunch to work and they think that one little behavior is what sabotages them. Well, that’s not the case. They just need to learn a few ways of balancing their busy lifestyle. There are healthy options out there for work-and-family-aholics (I should know, I’m one of them!) You just have to know what to look for. In this post, you’ll read about the new Vivanno smoothies from Starbucks that totally fit into a healthy eating plan.

Starbucks has taken out all artificial ingredients, including high fructose corn syrup in their foods. I’m a big fan of their smoothies. The new Vivanno smoothies taste so refreshing. The smoothies are made with fresh ingredients like strawberry puree (no sugar addded), a whole banana, whey protein powder, 2% milk and ice. The chocolate banana is made with cocoa, fresh banana, and 2% or skim milk. With less than 300 calories and a good balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fiber these smoothies can make a healthy meal for people trying to lose weight or a guiltless treat for people wanting an indulgent taste.

The 16 ounce chocolate banana smoothie is a winner at only 300 calories and 2 grams of saturated fat! Compare that to the 16 ounce chocolate milkshake at Jack in the Box for 880 calories and 45 grams of fat (31 grams saturated fat 155% of your daily value). Which one would YOU rather have?

The Vivanno smoothies are fantastic. I like to get mine with soy milk. Yum :)

I admire someone that takes the pride you have and with your projecton of information. oSo when i actually do sit down to read material, I appreciate well written and organized blogs like this one. I have it bookmarked and will be back. Thanks.

Thank you for this wonderful sharing of this. How much time did it cause you to create such a website? Did you pay people to do it? Do you know that Alexa bar is a wonderful plugin to measure the ranking of your website. You may want to check it out when you have time. Cheers!
